Youth Allowance and Austudy
As a full time OUA student, you may be eligible for the following government allowances:
- Youth Allowance is a payment for eligible full time students aged between 16 to 24 years of age who are resident in Australia
- Austudy is a payment for eligible full time students aged 25 years or more who meet the residency requirements
Full-time study: To be considered to be studying full-time with OUA, you need to be enrolled in units which have a combined EFTSL of at least 0.250. This is normally two units and will require 20 to 24 hours of study per week.

Student Start-up Loan
Students eligible for Youth Allowance, Austudy or ABSTUDY Living Allowance may also be entitled to a Student Start-up Loan.
