OUA Pathways

Find your study path

If you know you want to study, but you aren't sure where to begin, OUA Pathways is for you.

How it works

You start by telling us which study area you're most interested in - Business, Education, Engineering, Health, Humanities, Science or Social Science. We'll then recommend a Pathway, a combination of four units designed to get you into the swing of study in that field. You might think of it as a way of trialling online study or as preparation for a full degree.

Extra help, not extra study

We call the program OUA Pathways because the four units can lead you into one or more full degrees. You can choose to go on and study one of these courses or choose another course entirely.

The benefit of choosing one of the OUA Pathways-aligned courses is that the units you complete through the program will be automatically credited towards it - you'll start the course four units in*. If you choose a non-Pathways course, you may still be able to get credits for the units you've taken, but it isn't guaranteed (you'll need to contact the university that provides the course you're interested in and go through their Recognition of Prior Learning process).

* On completion of the Pathway, Macquarie University still needs to approve the application to meet the required academic eligibility for a Commonwealth supported place.
